Data Sources
We believe in transparency. All data shown on WorldFactly is sourced from well-known, open, and publicly available datasets:
REST Countries API
Core country data including names, capitals, populations, currencies, languages, flags, and regional classifications. Available at restcountries.com.
Open-Meteo
Climate and weather data for countries and cities, sourced from open meteorological models. Available at open-meteo.com.
GeoNames
Geographical names, city data, timezone information, and administrative divisions. Available at geonames.org.
World Bank
Economic and development indicators including GDP, income levels, trade data, and infrastructure statistics. Available at data.worldbank.org.
United Nations
Population and demographic data, human development indices, and global statistical reports. Available at data.un.org.
UNESCO
Education and cultural statistics including literacy rates, school enrolment, and World Heritage Sites. Available at uis.unesco.org.
WHO
Health and medical data including life expectancy, disease prevalence, healthcare infrastructure, and mortality statistics. Available at who.int/data.
OECD
Economic cooperation data covering productivity, taxation, social indicators, and policy comparisons across member states. Available at data.oecd.org.
Data is fetched at build time from these public APIs. We strive to keep information current but cannot guarantee real-time accuracy of all figures.
How WorldFactly Works
Country data is fetched from public APIs at build time and compiled into static pages. Each country page pulls from multiple sources: basic facts from REST Countries, economic indicators from the World Bank, heritage site counts from UNESCO via Wikidata, geography data from Wikidata, and points of interest from OpenStreetMap.
Pages are rebuilt periodically to pick up updated figures. All data is attributed to its source at the bottom of each page. No figures are editorially adjusted — numbers shown are the values returned by the respective API.
WorldFactly has no login, no paywall, and no tracking cookies. The site carries display advertising (Google AdSense) to cover operating costs.
